I finished reading Lisa Burstein’s Pretty Amy this afternoon. It was a lovely and painful read for me, and I know I should explain that more fully so as not to be misunderstood. Do not think painful means it was hard for me to get through. That is not the case at all. There are two reasons I say it was a lovely and painful read for me.
First, It was painful for me because …

Recently, I had the opportunity to pick up a Galley of MJ Rose’s The Book of Lost Fragrances. The synopsis was awesome and pulled me in right away. Here’s the synopsis from Amazon.com:

Kallie’s Video Review
Kelly’s Review
Ashes, by Ilsa J. Bick, is a 450 page haunting tale filled with delicious horror and frightening details. Bick has woven a story in which you fall in love with her characters and have no problem following them through a harrowing journey. The heroine, Alex, a girl who has honestly faced most everything you can imagine, begins the book on one very specific journey-a hard and emotional one. But after the Zap occurs, Alex’s journey becomes more than she bargained for as the world seems to be …

I can’t even explain how excited I was when I got my hands on Spellcaster by Cara Lynn Shultz. After reading Shultz’s first book, Spellbound, I knew this was going to be a series I would love. You can read my review of Spellbound here. You can also read our interview with Cara Lynn Shultz here.
Back to Spellcaster: Every time I get to a second book, I am always a little bit apprehensive. Will the sophomore edition live up to my expectations? Will I still be in love with the …

Kelly’s Review
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi is a book that has been fascinating me since I first heard about it. When I saw the cover, I couldn’t help but think, “I have to read this book. What is with that amazing girl on the cover??” I needed to know her story without even reading a line of the book yet. Then, Kallie read the book and she loved it. I didn’t have a copy of the ARC for this book, so I waited…and waited…and waited for November to come around. …

When I picked up the novel, Pretty, I really had no idea what I was getting. I didn’t do any research on it because often my ideas become messed up by reading other people’s opinions. I also didn’t want there to be any spoilers in my head. I did, however, want to be able to give you my firsthand opinion and honest review of this book. What I didn’t realize was how difficult of a read it would be for me. Now, I should say, I went into reading the …
