UtopYA Con 2012
This weekend is the first evah UtopYA Con, a weekend celebrating YA Paranormal authors, novels, and fans! Kelly and I were honored to participate as panelists and get to know some new authors and fellow fans. We also had to opportunity to catch up with some authors we already adore! The weekend started off with a beautiful, and encouraging opening from Myra McEntire, author of Hourglass and Timepiece. She wanted everyone to know, “You can do it!” The best part is that she enlisted the help of some other well known authors to relay the message…
Next, we (Kelly & I) were off to our first panel ‘Power of the Fans’… I was feeling very empowered after discussing, with authors and fans, the importance of fans and their ability to propel a novel into the view of many!
Our second panel was shared with Myra McEntire, Leanna Renee Hieber, and Auror’s Tales. We discussed ‘YA Paranormal in Primetime’, and had so much fun talking about our favorite books that have been brought to the small and big screens.
Lunch was a treat in the form of tacos and the company of Amanda Havard, the author of The Survivors and Point of Origin. We spent the rest of the afternoon learning from authors and fans alike, and then headed to dinner with a ton of the attendees of UtopYA Con!
