Bourne is the fourth installment in the the River of Time Series by Lisa T. Bergren.  While I don’t normally make a huge deal about e-novellas in general, I wanted to point this one out because I love the series so much! Novellas are quite the trend in YA right now… There are prequel novellas, mid-series novellas, and what I like to call the ‘I love this series so much that I need more!‘ novellas.  If you’ve read Waterfall, Cascade, and Torrent then you know what I mean by not getting enough!  The characters that Bergren has brought to life for her readers are a sweet and salty mix that blend well together, and are slightly addictive!

Bourne picks up right as Torrent ends… Gabi and Lia are working hard to bring care and attention to their injured knights, Marcello and Luca.  The twist to this series is that Gabi and Lia are from our modern day time and they have chosen to live their lives in medieval Italy.  The two handsome knights helped make their modern-day minds up to stay a little easier.  In Bourne we get a glimpse of Marcello and Gabi’s marital bliss, with a hint of Greco’s guilt and self-deprecation.  We also see a lot more of Lia and Luca’s blooming relationship.  I promise NO SPOILERS, so just trust me on the fact that you will love and hate the trouble they get themselves into!
